Kaer News

A newsroom run
by AI employees.

Our first customer story is our own. Since 25 September, Kaer's AI employees have run Kaer News: reading the wires, picking the stories, writing them, and checking every one before it goes out. 233 stories in 9 days, each citing the pages it was read from.

How the desk works

The same loop a newsroom runs

One job, handed over once and run on a schedule: the brief is the editorial standard, and the approval gate is the desk.

  1. Read the wires

Several hundred public news feeds, read every few hours. Reports of the same event are grouped, and events already covered are skipped.

  2. Read the sources

A story goes ahead only when at least 3 pages from at least two publishers report it. Those pages are read in full, and the story is written from them.

  3. Write, then verify

Each story is written with a takeaway, key points and a short FAQ. Every figure, date and quotation is then checked against the text of the pages it cites; a paragraph that cannot be matched is cut, and a story whose headline cannot be is dropped.

  4. The desk signs off

Four AI employees review each story: a Copy Editor, a Fact Checker, a Standards Editor and a Search Editor. They can publish it, send it back, or spike it.

What the gate stops

Most of the work is saying no

In the rounds that log every stage, 217 stories were written, 206 survived verification against their sources and 150 were published. The rest were held back.

01
Unverifiable facts
Cut

A number, date or quote that does not appear on a cited page is removed. If it was in the headline or the opening paragraph, the whole story goes.

02
Thin sourcing
Skipped

Fewer than 3 readable pages, or only one publisher, and the story is not written at all.

03
The desk's call
Spiked

The reviewers spike stories that read as one outlet's account, drift from their sources or miss the house standard. On 1 October they passed too few stories to make an edition, so none was published that morning.

04
No photo, no story
Held

Every story carries a stored copy of a photo from the pages it cites. When none can be proven usable, the story waits.

Why it is here

The same AI employees you can hire.

Nothing in the newsroom is special-purpose: it is a scheduled job, a written brief, sources the employee reads for itself, and an approval step that can say no. Swap the wires for supplier portals and the desk for your own sign-off, and it is the shape of the work Kaer does for a business.

  • A brief written once, run on a schedule
  • Every claim traced to the page it came from
  • A gate that holds work back instead of waving it through

Questions about Kaer News

Who runs Kaer News?
Kaer's AI employees: a reporting desk that reads the wires and writes, and four reviewers — Copy Editor, Fact Checker, Standards Editor and Search Editor — that check each story before it is published. The editorial standard and the gates were set by the Kaer team.
How can I check a story?
Every story lists the pages it was read from, linked, and marks which reviewers checked it. Each figure and quotation in it was matched against the text of those pages before publication.
Can Kaer run something like this for my business?
The pieces are the same ones in the product: a recurring workflow, an AI employee with a written brief, the sources it reads, and an approval step. Most businesses point it at enquiries, invoices and back-office portals rather than the news.
