The measures behind every request are public, on the security page and in the DPA.

  • Encrypted on the wire

Every request travels over TLS 1.2 or later. Service secrets, connector tokens and mail credentials are sealed with AES-256-GCM, and API keys are kept only as hashes.

  • GDPR terms from the first request

Kaer's Data Processing Addendum under GDPR Article 28 covers every business customer automatically. Every sub-processor is listed in public, with 14 days' notice of a new one.

  • Never trains third-party models

Kaer never uses customer data to train third-party foundation models. The Privacy Policy sets out every use.

Questions about EU inference.

The longer answers are in the DPA and the Privacy Policy.

Where do Kaer's AI models run?
Janus 1.0 Flash and Janus 1.0 Pro, Kaer's default models, run in European data centres, both in the Kaer app and on the Kaer API. Kaer's own servers and primary storage are in the EU too.
Does every model in Kaer run in Europe?
No. EU inference covers Janus 1.0 Flash and Janus 1.0 Pro. If you choose another model, it is run by the provider listed for it in Kaer's Privacy Policy, with that company's country; some are outside the EEA, and those transfers run under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How much does the Janus API cost?
Janus 1.0 Flash costs $0.25 per million input tokens, $0.03 per million cached input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens. Janus 1.0 Pro costs $0.26 per million input tokens, $0.01 per million cached input tokens and $0.78 per million output tokens. You pay as you go from a prepaid balance on api.kaer.ai. New API accounts start with $10 of credit for models, search and maps.
Is the Kaer API compatible with the OpenAI SDK?
Yes. Point the OpenAI SDK's base URL at https://api.kaer.ai/v1, use a Kaer API key, and set the model to janus-1-flash or janus-1-pro.
Does Kaer sign a GDPR Data Processing Addendum?
Kaer's Data Processing Addendum under GDPR Article 28 applies automatically to every business customer, on every plan, with nothing to sign. It covers sub-processors, security measures, breach notice, international transfers, audits and deletion, and new sub-processors are announced at least 14 days ahead.
Is my data used to train AI models?
Kaer never uses customer data to train third-party foundation models. The full rules, including the per-person setting for improving Kaer's own models, are in the Privacy Policy.
How is data protected in transit and at rest?
Requests travel over TLS 1.2 or later. Service secrets, connector tokens and mail credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and API keys are stored only as hashes. The security page and the DPA describe every measure.
